Hugh Jackman’s “ The Greatest Showman,” a musical take on circus founder P.T. “Pitch Perfect 3” also opened with $9.8 million in 14 international territories during the weekend. The threequel brought back the Bellas singing group with Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, and Hana Mae Lee reprising their roles. Universal’s “ Pitch Perfect 3” took in about $26 million at 3,447 theaters for the four-day period. “Jumanji” also opened solidly with $49.5 million in 53 international markets for the Friday-Sunday weekend. Sony’s action comedy “ Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” is leading the rest of the pack with an estimated $52 million at 3,765 North American sites for the Friday-Monday period and a six-day total of around $69 million. Its worldwide haul will top the $800 million mark on Monday. “Stars Wars: The Last Jedi” earned $75.1 million in 55 international markets for the Friday-Sunday weekend and had totaled $380.3 million at the international box office as of Dec. ![]()
